Welcome to Mrs. Foushee's Second Grade
Greetings! Welcome to a year in second grade at Middle Fork! I am looking forward to working with you to make this an exciting time of learning , success, and growth for your child as he/she prepares for the next step--third grade.
This is my thirtieth year teaching second grade in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and my sixth year at Middle Fork. I truly enjoy this age because it is such an important year of transition!
The second grade year is a year of important changes. During this year students are expected to take on more responsibility for themselves and their work. They are learning to examine and question the world around them in more depth. Students are learning routines that will enable them to experience success in their learning. Second grade is preparation for the sophistication and expectations of third grade state end of grade testing and state writing tests. They will learn to approach these challenges with confidence.
Again, I am looking forward to working with your child and you in making this the best year of learning possible!

Conferencing
I am available to conference or discuss concerns with you during mornings, 7:00-7:30, or afternoons as soon as children are loaded on buses, at 2:40 with appointment.
