I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I received a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Salem College and a Masters in School Administration from Appalachian State University. I completed an Educational Specialist Degree from Appalachian State University in Educational Leadership. I earned my doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Appalachian State University. My wonderful husband and I have four daughters. We are members of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church.
School and education are big, big, big in my life. I love being a student and a lifelong learner and hope to instill the love for learning in all the students attending Mineral Springs Elementary. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies as well as sewing and cooking when I have the time. It is a goal for me as principal to create a school community that fosters the love of reading in all students. My wish for our students is for them to become lifelong learners while also growing to be good citizens who take responsibility for establishing strong communities for the future.
