Hello to All!! I am Debra Gladstone, principal of Mineral Spring Elementary, Home of the Bulldogs!! It is with great pleasure that I serve as the principal of this fantastic school. This is my third year as principal of Mineral Springs Elementary. Before coming to Mineral Springs Elementary, I served as assistant principal at Prince Ibraham Elementary. My days as a classroom teacher were spent at Old Town Elementary where I taught fourth grade for six years and fifth grade for two years before becoming the assistant principal at Prince Ibraham.
I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I received a Masters in the Art of Teaching from Salem College and a Masters in School Administration from Appalachian State University. I completed an Educational Specialist Degree from Appalachian State University in Educational Leadership and I am presently working on my dissertation for a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership.
My wonderful husband and I have four daughters. The oldest is a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill, the second and third daughters are a junior and sophomore at North Carolina State University and my youngest daughter is a freshman in high school. We are members of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church.
School and education are big, big, big in my life. I love being a student and a life long learner and hope to instill the love for learning in all the students attending Mineral Springs Elementary. Reading is one of my favorite hobbies as well as sewing and cooking when I have the time. It is a goal for me as principal to create a school community that fosters the love of reading in all students.
My wish for our students is for them to become life-long learners while also growing to be good citizens who take responsibility for establishing strong communities for the future.
