We're off to a great start in fourth grade! Mineral Springs has adopted PBIS this year (Positive Behavior Intervention Support), and our students have quickly become familiar with the new procedures and rewards that come with this program. Please ask your child all about it, and visit my Classroom Documents page for more information.
We show POWER in the classroom!
Polite: speak kindly, listen to others' ideas
On-task: Come prepared, stay focused
Wise: Raise hand to speak
Encouraging: Help others, always do your best, keep a positive attitude
Responsible: Keep hands and feet to self, work cooperatively, follow directions the first time
Our school uses a color coded behavior system. In addition to a PBIS form being filled out each time a child breaks a rule, their color changes according to the following:
1st offense: Warning (yellow)
2nd offense: Silent Lunch/ Laps at Recess (orange)
3rd offense: Parent Contact/ Chill-Out Station (purple)
4th offense: Office Referral (red)
About Mrs. Wiggins
I grew up in Winston-Salem, and moved back here to teach in 2008 when I married my husband. This is my fifth year teaching at Mineral Springs Elementary. Before that, I taught for two years in Charlotte after graduating from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
When I'm not at school, I spend time reading, playing with my dog, Deacon, and enjoying Wake Forest football and basketball with family and friends!
