We are having a super year with all that is going on in the Art room. Students have many opportunities to create many different art projects using many media including clay. We have not one, but two kilns here and Mrs. Vance loves to work in clay sculpture. Grade levels get to work on their PTA sets along with specific research Arts projects where we focus on certain themes and do many kinds of artwork that shows student understanding of those objectives as well. Please check the calendar for this months schedule. Thank you and enjoy your day! Draw! Draw! Draw! Encourage your child to draw what they see. All they need is a piece of paper and a pencil with an eraser. Have them choose something around them and have them draw it realistically. |
4th and 5th Grade Art Club meets on certain Wednesdays to work on additional Art Concepts and Set Design for Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat. We meet from 3:30 - 5pm. Pick up students at the front main building. If you come after 5:15, your child will be waiting in the office to be picked up. We will also be working on a six piece panel that focuses on visuals that display what Mineral Springs Elementary School is all about. We will be painting silhouettes of students working on computers, students learning math and reading, teachers, the arts, etc. 3rd Grade Little Leo Art Club meets the first Wednesday of each month. See calendar. Our art class at MSES revolves around Art Production, Art Aesthetics, Art History and Art Criticism. We give exposure to many kinds of art including clay sculpture. |
