It's 8:30 on Friday morning, and the Latham Tigers are in their seats, listening to their teachers and ready to learn. In a nearby classroom, their parents are doing the same thing.

The Toyota Family Literacy Program believes that families learn best when they learn together. At Latham, that is exactly what they do. Parents learn English in an adult classroom, and then they spend time in their children's rooms, learning together with their little ones. When they return to the adult classroom, they discuss what they have seen.

Because the curriculum is uniquely centered around both the adult education and the children's curriculum, families learn together, and learn better.
