Horticultural Therapy Program at The Special Children's School
What is Horticultural Therapy?
Horticultural Therapy is a process through which plants, gardening activities, and the innate closeness we all feel toward nature are used as vehicles in professionally conducted programs of therapy and rehabilitation.
The Special Children's School Ability Garden:
The Centers for Exceptional Children incorporated horticultural therapy into their curriculum in 2009. The Special Children's School horticultural therapy program began in 2011. The garden serves as an outdoor classroom where children of all abilities can participate and learn. Our horticultural therapy program is made possible by the generous support of community donors and volunteers.
