Our 3rd - 5th grade NC READY End of Grade testing will continue with the Reading EOG on Wed., 6/1, and the Math EOG will be on Thurs., 6/2. Please make every effort for your child to be at school on time so they can test with their class instead of having to take the test during the make-up day of June 3. If you would like to volunteer to proctor during testing, please contact us. Thank you!
5th Grade Graduation will be on Thurs., June 9.
Is your child reading every night? Our School Improvement Team has identified that we need to help our students increase their reading stamina - the ability to read for sustained amounts of time. Please have your child reading each night. We recommend K - 2 students read 20 minutes each night and 3 - 5 read for 30 minutes each night. Our teachers and media coordinator are available to help with book choices and strategies to help students understand what they're reading - let's work together to help our children become stronger readers!
We need your help to keep things running smoothly! Parent and community volunteers are needed for a variety of opportunities - everything from shelving books in the library to reading with children. Contact Mr. Eric Jones, our Parent Involvement Coordinator, for more information, and visit the WS/FCS "How do I Volunteer?" page.
June 9 and 10 will now be student days to make up for days missed due to inclement weather.
